I am from North Carolina, and I say "pee-can"......but now I live in Texas, and everybody teases me for the way I pronounce it.....

Oh no, I had no idea folks from the Carolinas said pee-can LOL! I thought you all said "puh con"...interesting. I say puh-con, and my husband says it the other way.

I'm from and still in Connecticut and almost everyone here says pee-can but I always said puh-con.

I am from NC, and we all say puh-con in the area I am from. Are you from the Western or Eastern part of the state? I am from the Western part.

I lived in Texas for a year. Tell the yokels you are saying it right. At least your from the "South". I'm from Michigan and I couldn't say anything right in thier eyes. Move back to NC. Screw those people. I pronounce it "nut".

Actually, I say "pee-con", which is a hybrid weird way, I guess. Don't mind those fools making fun of you, they're just jealous cause you can be different and they can't.

I'm from New England, and I say "pee-can". Don't worry, people make fun of us New Englanders all the time! My acting coach went to California (she's from Brooklyn) and they said "ver-ie" as "veerie". She couldn't understand that they were saying very!!!
