Completely different. We eat meat because we are omnivores. The goal is to treat the animals we eat humanely and to kill them with minimal pain. Dog fighting puts a spotlight on our bloodlust, and is extremely cruel and painful to the animals involved. Also, in Vick's case, the "losers" were executed through gruesome means, no doubt for the pleasure of the spectators. Eating meat is consistent with a humane society, dog fighting is not.

Eating meat is not against the law, but setting up dog-fights is against the law. It isn't just the cruelty--that aspect was what made the dog fight law happen in the first place... it's also another way of gambling, like cock-fights are.

WHAT?
Michael Vick is charged for cruelty for torturing his "pets" by hanging them, fighting them, throwing them down on concrete floors, electrocuting them, etc. What does this have to do with eating meat? Don't you see why he is in trouble?

Is it illegal to eat meat? And by the way, meat is necessary for your health. Michael Vick did this for money we do this for food, there's a difference.

Well yes most of us meaning ALL people eat meat. BUT to get this meat WE do NOT make the cattle fight and then we will kill the weaker one and eat it. We do NOT beat the cattle or the pigs or make them fight to see which one is stronger. Cattle, pigs, and any other meats that are eaten to my knowledge are NOT tortored and then killed. The meats we eat are killed but they are killed humanely. Dog fighting is another story. Kill a dog because it didn't win a fight. Or beat it because it didn't win a fight. OK, come on over. I got a dog you can beat.

If convicted he faces an exceptional ($3 hundred,000 i think of yet do no longer be responsive to if it is on each and each count type) and as much as 3 yrs in detention center (in all risk gets little or none). the place he will injury is dropping those endorsement contracts.

Well that is not a very smart question. Like she said we don't eat dog meat (or at least not willingly). That is very ignorant of you to ask/say. Read the facts before you speak.

Well, I don't eat dog... and the registered Angus cattle that I raise and sale on my farm are not forced to fight each other to the death while a bunch of my neighbors sit around and bet on whether Bessie is gonna be the winner or not. We do not beat them, electrocute them, drown them or hang them from trees, shoot, we don't even kill them. Hey and you know what, if we deem one not good enough, we don't bang it's head on concrete, we usually just keep feeding it, because that's part of it. You ask this question while you are wearing your leather tennis shoes?

In some states it is not illegal to kill a dog. It is illegal to torture a dog or get them in a ring and make them fight for their lives.

In Arizona a kennel owner for greyhounds took a bunch of dogs to a field and shot each of them in the head. He then cut off the ears(greyhounds have tattoos identifying them). He could only be charged with illegal dumping.
