I read about this today Dave, and believe you me, who is going to support a Limited Company PLC in their right mind, surely not me. The proceeds are not for Madeleine anymore, they are for the 'Team Mc's.'

I've just read again the explanation about Mccann's visit with the Attorney General (an ex cert on the link)....to see whats being done and how they deal with child abduction in the US ....I wonder if the Attorney General said "we tell people to lock all doors when going to bed, don't leave children alone ever" Also did he tell them that in the US they prosecute parents who fail to safeguard their children most basic need?
More people are coming forward with their views of the Mccann's and are voicing them louder.....now people who are not hoodwinked by the whole Mccann circus are shhowing their dissaproval by NOT supporting the fund.........
There will always be some who supprort them because what happened to them was, I agree awful, a nightmare, but had they NOT left those children alone this would NOT have happened...I cannot feel for them I'm too busy feeling for the child who's the one truly suffering in all this...(if indeed she was taken)....... MADDY!!!!
She deserves to be remembered and so do the Mccann's but for very different reasons than the one's being portrayed by our media etc....

People that have already given to the McCanns were led to believe that the money was to help search for Madeleine, have now realised that, 3 months later, it hasn't been used for this purpose at all. In fact, it isn't really clear if it's going to be used to help find Madeleine at all, but what is clear, is that the McCanns have made sure all the funds will remain under their control to dispense with as they see fit.
People are getting wise and no longer wish to give money in order to fund the McCanns retirement pension.

I heard of the Concert - on the scrolling Marquee at the bottom of my Television screen on Sky News!
It clearly has not been publicised and even if it was, do you think people who go there for the music, or to donate for Madeleine?
Maybe newspapers want to show their 'sensitive' side - i.e. by printing articles on Madeleine McCann, who is 'forgotten'.
I've just realised something - if you go on Wikipedia, search up Madeleine McCann, I don't think they mention anything about the concert.

From the majority of the answers above, one can plainly see that most people were not aware of the concert.
That points more to the bad organisation/administraion rather than the Cause, don't you think?
Also, your question, as an attempt to conclude that the bad turn-out for the concert is an indication that people do not support the McCanns is futile, 'cos some folk may not have attended the concert not out of lack of concern or a sign of non-support, but for other reasons, like, perhaps the weather, prior committments or just plain old age!
Like i said before, its really sad...not the fact that the concert was poorly attended but that so many people are happy & full of glee that it was so poorly attended.

It is a sad fact of life that the public's attention is caught by a cause celebre. Unfortunately, other news headlines take over like floods, etc.
I think it is time that the McCanns targeted the Portuguese, who have not been flooded out this summer, who have not lost their homes and who have been made homeless and penniless. The McCanns now live in Portugal, if they want to target the English with all their current problems I suggest they leave the warm and cheap living of the Algarve and get back to the Uk.

Its ok Dave, you can copy my question from earlier (!), but seriously, I do wonder if the leicester mercury has got this wrong and typed the wrong number. Even though I would enjoy the fact that people are wising up to the mccanns, I cant believe that the mercury would admit that such a low number turned up. I wonder if it was meant to say 800 people (still a low number though)

i think you will find that this was not publicised enough as it would seem no-one except for 80ppl knew about it. the fact that the fund for madeleine is a limited company also puts ppl off. if the money was to go to a charity run by ppl not involved with the mccanns ppl would be more likely to give if they thought their cash was being used for detectives in the actual physical search for maddie. well i would anyway.

If I was a member of Team McCann I'd be sacking Toni Perduno, the organiser.
Pretty obvious he didn't do a very good job!

Was this concert only advertised/reported in the papers (I don't read them). I never heard a thing about this concert. Where was it, who was playing?
I guess that maybe a reason why few people went, not publicised well enough.
