I have a few, each for different reasons:

- Oxford University, for the history and architecture
- Harvard University, for the unbelievably cool location and vibe, and the fact that it's pretty good, academically (LOL)
- UMass Amherst, for the collegiate feel, the funky vibe, the free bus system, and there being so much to do there
- University College London, for the location in London, the academics, and the city feeling
- Smith College, for the intense academic focus and political activism and, of course, the beautiful campus (and the fact that they have the coolest cafeterias)
- Flagler College (in Florida) because it's a former luxury hotel on the ocean, and they have Tiffany windows in their academic buildings and Victorian fireplaces in their dorm rooms
- The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, in Boston, because of the intensity of the art programs, the facilities available, the interesting classes, the connection to Tufts, and the smell of the place. I love the smell of art school - turpentine, pastels, pencils - lovely
- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, for its academics, its focus on technology in even it's non-tech programs, its beautiful campus, its down-to-earth students, and its unusual fraternity/sorority system
- Rhode Island School of Design for its strong academics, interesting programs, and its location in Providence, RI. What a funky, small city that is, and the school is right across the street from Brown
- Jagellonian University, in Krakow, for it's wonderful location, beautiful buildings, and well dressed students

But which is my absolute favorite? Probably UMass Amherst. I think it's the cows that did it. :winks:

**GO BEARS**

My favorite university is UC Berkeley. Class of 2002. No school can tout the same kind of student/alumni fervor and loyalty as Cal. When we lose a football game, we pillage the stadium and loot Telegraph Ave. When we WIN a football game, we pillage the stadium and loot Telegraph Ave. Great and crazy times.

Cal boasts its status as #1 public university in the world (suck it, UVA!). Nowhere else do you get such an eclectic melange of brilliant minds, zealous activists, eccentrics, artists and intellectuals.

We have Nobel Laureates, Fields Medalists, Pulitzer Prizewinners and the occasional Olympic athlete. Internet sensation (and talented pole-vaulter), Alison Stokke http://collegecandy.com/buzz/2921 , is part of our incoming frosh class.

We have an awesomely tall clocktower (all hail the Campanile!)

We have our own ELEMENT on the periodic table (Berkelium Bk 97), as well as Californium (Cf 98), Seaborgium (Sg 106), Lawrencium (Lr 103).

Does your favorite school have its own element? Didn't think so.
