Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube or Play Station 2? Which one should I get? Today they are both 20 dollars. Its also out for the Wii and PC but I am only asking if I should get it for the GC or PS2.
I already know the GC version has better visuals, better sound, more responsive controls, and shorter loading times. The PS2 includes Separate Ways, 2 new weapons, 2 new outfits, and 2 new bosses.
I can't decide on which to get. I would also like to know which version of the game you have (if you own the game) and what you think is better in your opinion. Please try to include detail if possible.

1 of the new weapons and the 2 new bosses are included in Separate Ways in the PS2 version of the game. I've known this information about the game from game faqs and other info I have read on the web. I would still like to know which is better to you.

Sorry that I have made two additional details that are nearly the same. That was a mistake.

In my opinion, the PS2 version is better than the GameCube version.
It is true that the PS2 version has inferior graphics and sound, along with longer loading times.
However, the differences are very minimal.
The PS2 version includes several mini-games and a side-story to make up for this loss.
I think that the PS2 version is better in terms of gameplay and value for money, even though it is a little inferior to the GC version.

I have GameCube and I have gotten much enjoyment out of it. I don't know, though. . . the game just feels much better on the GameCube than it would the PS2. I enjoy the control layout better and the PS2 sure it comes with few new additions but it doesn't appeal to me as much. I enjoy my GameCube RE4. I may get the PS2 some time, but I doubt it, since I see no reason in getting for owning it already on the GameCube. I guess since this is your first time playing it then you should go on ahead and get it for the PS2 since it comes with all that new stuff and you aren't already familiar with the controller layout.

I would say that it would be best to get Resident Evil 4 on PS2 for the gameplay factor.
With the PS2 version you have a longer lifespan of game playing, with extra mini games and new game senarios.
The unlockable content such as costumes and guns are good to have too, and can make the game more enjoyable to replay again and again.
I think that with the GC version you might only play through the game once or twice, then you may start to get bored

I have the PS2 version. Played it on GC. I prefer the PS2 controller and the difference in graphics isn't as dramatic as some make it seem. Content and playability should determine your purchase and the PS2 is the better of the two versions.

If you like good plat-former/action games here are some of my favorites: Ratchet & Clank (1-3), my personal favorite Wolverines Revenge Castlevania (Lament of Innocense) Star Wars Bounty Hunter Beyound Good & Evil Devil May Cry, (1-3), my personal 3rd favorite Onimusha (1-4**3&4 are better because they use the left analog stick to move the characters rather than the D-pad) God of War (1&2) Shadow of the Collosus Tomb Raider (Legend & Anniversary) Sphinx Now about RE4. First of all it's not a shooter, it's an action game. Granted it doesn't move quite as well as Jak & Daxter, but it is a truely great game that is far superior to its predisessors (all the other RE games) It is also challenging, the monsters get better and better as you get further along in the game. Then once you've beaten the game, you can play through as Ada and when you beat that you unlock the "Chicago Typewriter"!!!! Then you can replay the main game as Leon with it and that is awesome!!!!! RE4 is my personal 2nd favorite game of all time and for good reason, it was EGM's game of the year over God of War when it first came out!!!

lol why does everyone who answers this question say go with the gamecube cause it looks better?or they think its better like the ps2 ver is trash cause its ps2?
both versions are great, but what its gonna come down too is personal prefference and what game console you have
its not like you miss out on a bunch if you get the game cube version, they didnt cut out that much, except a few eye candy but thats about it,graphics dont make a game great.....
if you have a ps2 go with the ps2 ver..
if you have a gamecube go with the gc ver..

I'd go with the Gamecube version. You summed up all my preferences why. (The GC version does have far superior graphics) But which system are you most comfortable playing? Which controller are you most used to? RE4 requires some fast button presses, so playing on the controller and system most comfortable for you would make for a better gaming experience. This is a great game, enjoy!
