Do most of you realize Hitler had the same idea?

Recently someone posted this question:
"Do you believe retarded people and those with major genetic diseases should not be allowed to procreate? Make a case for either side."

Unfortunately, everyone who answered said that they should not. Do you realize that this was Hitler's idea too? Sterilize the "unfit", the "human weeds"? He euthanized whole hospitals full of mentally disabled people. That is the logical conclusion if you take such an idea to its ultimate end.

There's an entire village in the south of england, that is made up of the 'mentaly ill' as society sees them, though they can function pretty well it seems.

some, esp Downs syndrome kids (although they can have heartbraking sickness down the line) bring joy and love to those around them.

this is a silly notion. healthy people can have mentaly ill or genetic deseased kids just as they can have healthy kids. i think the 'ultimate end' in this day and age is to cure the genetic desease with stem cell research, not kill everyone you dont understand properly.

Hitlers was trying to get rid of Germans depression. After WWI German was left hurting pretty bad. Hitler felt that the best way to fix the depression was to kill the rich, which in most cases was the jewish. This also gave the country someone to blame for the countries strife. If hitler were worried abou tthe "unfit, human weeds" He would have killed German nationals with mental illnesses, not just Jews.

you are right, discriminating against a particular group because they are thought mentally deficient is inhumane. At the same time, indescriminate procreation is irresponsible and will consume all the resources of the planet in short order. There in lies the dichotomy. Who should take the responsibility for limiting procreation? I submit that it is the way people are raised, if it is instilled from childhood that only one child should be produced for each parent then we would have a stable population and our resources would not be overwhelmed. Hitler was limited in his thinking, in that he felt reducing the disabled and defficient would stabalize population growth, he was wrong, and his methods were heinous. But then he was a sick and twisted individual.

y kill someone cuz they r mentally retarded? they have rights 2. i must admit that i would not encourage them to have children unless the have the capability to take care of a child. but i think everyone that s born has a purpose and its still murder to kill them. i dont see why its anyones problem if the persons family loves them and is willing to take care of them. im also sure all the ppl thats saying to kill them have no one in thier family with these kinds of problems or else they wouldnt make such stupid and heartless comments

The mentallt retarted or people with major genetic diseases do need to get euthanized. Those people are funds that sometimes the govt. will make us give money for -with taxes and if they won't enjoy life-why live?..

yep. i did know that. I don't see anything wrong with people of any sort trying to find happiness & have the joys of a family. many do not, but those who do, more power to them!

i think they should be able to just like any one else, unless there completely incapable of raising a child and taking care of themseles. the people who say they shouldnt should die.
