You can leave the stock risers on.

You will need to lengthen the wiring harnesses, the brake line, the clutch line, and the throttle cables.

Drag Specialty's offers extended wiring kits for your bike.

Braided lines would be the easiest way to go. Aftermarket and stock HD offer braided lines in plus sizes (+2, +4, +6, etc).

If you are not very good at wiring then you should take the bike to a professional to do this. The money you spend will be how large the headache you will have if you do it yourself.

So far, I have worked on 15 bikes brought to me on a wrecker or a trailer because the owner thought that they could do this themselves and save a bunch of money and ended up costing them more money by doing it this way.

Food for thought.

As long as the O/D (Outside Diameter) of the bars are the same, the stock risers should work.
Depending how high up you go, you'll need longer lines, cables, wiring.

You only need to remove the riser top clamp. I went from stock bars to mini- apes once on a Heritage and was able to use stock cables and wiring. Just give it a try. It will only take you a few minutes to discover if your stock equipment is long enough. Also ditto to what questionmark said about HD dealers. Find a good independent shop.

you can do it with or without the stock risers...
you will need longer clutch and throttle cables,
a longer brake line,
and all the control wires must be lengthened..
if you run the wires inside the new bars it will look much cleaner and hide the splices..
tip ....solder all wire splices... crimps will fail in this application

well, what you do is you get the handle bars you want take the oem ones off see if the new ones will fit and also see if the throttle and brake and other stuff will still work or if you will need to get long ones. Try going to you local HD Dealer and kick them in the balls for not telling you what you need for doing the and for not giving you the right parts.
HD dealers = dumb asses behind a counter

You didn't say if it was popping through the crb or the pipes. If it ran good after u cleaned the plugs its probably to rich. Air cleaner good and clean? Check for air leaks.

your best bet is to take it to a shop, if your bike is still under warranty you could void it
