If I got a wireless router, and for some reason the computer that has the actual modem got a virus, is it possible for that virus to spread from that computer to my desktop with the wireless router??

Unlikely since there in not network connectivity between the 2. I take it one system is wireless and one is dial-up modem. Now if you happen to visit the same web site or open the same spam mail that created the virus on the other computer.

Not unless the two machines are networked. With a wireless router they usually stand alone, so they all need AV, firewalls, etc etc!

No, but you may be able to get a worm, which can spread on a network without a host file.

No, only if you opened the same file(s) that contains the virus.
