How does self-reporting to prison work??????/?

I was sentenced for a year and a day sentence on July 17 and I was just wondering how does it work...how long does it take to get your letter...and where do I have to go?

When this is done in our court system (Family Court), the date of self-report is included in the handing down of the sentence, on the commitment papers that we issue at that time. You report when that date comes up. You report to the prison that you are sentenced to. If you do NOT report, a capias (warrant) is issued for your arrest.

Check ALL the paperwork from the Court that sentenced you -- and if no date is listed on any of that paperwork, you need to contact that court and inquire what their procedure is.
