(2z - 1)(z - 2) = 0
z = 1 / 2 , z = 2

You need to move the -2 and the 5z to the other side. Add 2 and subtract the 5z (because the 2 is negative and the 5 is positive so you must do the opposite to move them) you end up with 2z^2 -5z + 2 =0. Then you need to unfoil it. Basically it is going to look like this when you're done. ( ) ( ). I won't do the whole problem for you but hopefully this will give you a start.

Get 0 on one side first:

2z^2 - 5z + 2 = 0.

Factor:

(2z - 1)(z - 2) = 0

Set each factor = 0 and solve:

z = 1/2, z = 2

Get everything on one side:

2z^2-5z+2=0

Then factor it...

2z^2 = -2 + 5z
2z^2 -5z + 2 = 0
[5 +- Sq Rt (25 - 16)]/4
(5 +- 3)/4 = 0
z = 2
z = 1/2
2(z - 2) (z - 0.5) =
2(z^2 - 2.5z + 1) =
2z^2 - 5z + 2
