Here is what going to happen the yankees will make the playoffs by a skim, the red sox will feel overconfident that they won the east, then the yanks would regroup their offense which is centered around A-rod then and beat them the they will beat and no attitude tiger teams that are still trying to find their identity. Then they will have a good series against the met but will win game 7 at yankee stadium.

reaching the world series is now about getting hot at the right time. look at the red sox in 04 who got hot at just the right time to win it all, the cardinals last year got hot right before the postseason last year went on a tear in the playoffs to win the series. i think that the yankees are the team this year that are getting hot at the right time in order to make the playoffs and reach and win the world series because of the team that they have. they have the potential to get hot and stay hot. as for the national league, i think it will come down to the pardres and the mets who have the best pitching staffs and i think that the mets willl reach the world series because of the depth in their bench.

Red Sox from the AL, barring a major upset.
The Mets currently have the best NL record, and they're generally a pretty safe bet. But I'd watch out for the Cubs. And maybe this seems like a stretch, but when the Diamondbacks gets hot, they seem to get really hot.
