You are referring to our "center," our "solidness of mind," our "Chee Toes," to coin a new spirit term pointing to our very soul, our essence...yes...(voice getting kinda creepy)

When things get too stressed out, you are, indeed! correct to assume that the only course of action warranted in these situations is to...oh...how shall I say...?!?

"Chill," if you will...

And to properly "Chill," one must inevitably make no such grandiose a plan as a full-fledged "goal..."
One must eradicate all such foolish ideas leading to the creation of said "goals..."

So "Chill," baby...I heartily approve of your "no-plan," and hereby sanction it, accordingly, forthwith, notwithstanding, indubitably, coo coo kachoo...

Carry on...

Hi Rena! I think this is great home grown wisdom - to a certain extent. It sounds like my New Years non-resolution. I am a Virgo, so I get lost in the details and stress out if I don't finish each job to the best of my ability and with a certain amount of perfection. It means that a lot of things never get finished properly and I tend to neglect myself while taking very good care of everyone else. If you are not in a stressed out mode, I think it is reasonable to set a few reachable goals - once you have recovered properly and have developed a system of self protection, healing and renewal.

I didn't assume you meant to NEVER have a goal again! I totally agree with "chilling out." I know when I've reached a point that I'm so overwhelmed by all the things that need my attention, I blank them out & take time to relax, to enjoy the things that give me pleasure. You can deal much more clearly, & easily if you abandon them for as much time as it takes to "refresh" yourself. & I mean REALLY blank them out; don't let them gnaw at the back of your mind or you'll accomplish nothing. If you did mean no goals--permanently, well I can't comprehend that, & I don't think it's what you meant.

Sure, when you're overwhelmed, I agree its time to unplug yourself from whatever it is which is stressing you out and you should also take a break from "trend setting" with your goals. However, do not permanently abandon your will to achieve.

Not at all...

first of all I hate to point out that your goal of not having a goal is in fact a GOAL... so you have no choice but to fail...

Second... getting rid of your self expectations isn't going to get you anywhere in life.... just relax if things are too hectic... Don't throw your plate out the window, just take a few things off of it... relaxing is important, but don't sell yourself short either...

Every person should schedule themselves an hour a day of quiet, relax time. It keeps you sane :) It doesn't mean you have to give up being a high achiever, though!

Yes your right. The key here is to know when someting is truely important enough to stress over. If it isn't something YOU can control, don't let it stress you.
