we broke up a month ago i broke up with her
she stills wants to be friends
we met up for lunch, she suspected that i have a new gf
and began to ask me a series of questions which i didnt want to answer i simply told her i have a potential but im not seeking anything serious now but she went on how she met this new guy and how nice he is
and all the things he has done for her

i didnt get angry or anything (i guess she was hoping)

why will a woman do that
is it to smooth a wounded ego

why?? what are her motives? thanks

To make you feel like you are missing something and that she is being treated better and is happier with this new guy.

Yes, its to fix her ego.

Maybe smooth that wounded ego...
maybe just to let you know that she is comfortable with you talking about new relationships.
Either way, I think a month is too soon to turn your relationship into a friendship. People just can't turn off the past that fast.

Since you said that YOU broke up with HER, I think the answer is obvious.
She wants you to see that someone else thinks she's a catch and you're missing out.

The REAL question is why did YOU go out to lunch with her? If you broke up with her, going to lunch with her is stringing her along and giving her false hope of getting back together. Honestly, that's really a mean thing to do. What are YOU trying to get out of it? Do you need more "friends" that badly that you have to string along ex-girlfriends?
Tell her that it's over and make it OVER! She'll get over it. And you go find new friends.

(hint: "being friends" with someone who broke up with you is code for "let's keep in touch in case you change your mind")

i think she is wanting you back or maybe doesnt want you but doesnt want you to find anyone else. also she may be making this up because she thinks you have found someone and she doesnt want you to think she cant find anyone or to amek you think it doesnt bother her that you have foudn someone . there would be no concern of it mention to you if she didnt still ove you. you may want to set down and tlak to her and see what is really going on if you are still interested a, and if not maybe be easier for you to back away from her and turn down the lunch dates until later on .. you dont have to turn her away as a firend just take it easy. you have to protect your heart too

She prob isn't over you and wants to make you jealous by mentioning another man. Maybe its her way to deal with getting over you. Plus if she thinks you have a new gf she wants u to think that she's fine w/ out you and she too found someone else. Its just one of those stupid games people play.

It just like a fight, she wanted to throw the first punch. Next time tell you met somebody and how much you care about her.even if you're making it up and watch her go down like she's got a glass jaw!!

Well it seen like the relationship, didn't work out for your. She asking you about this new girl, because she still have feeling for you, and want to see what type of girl you are dating. She telling you about her new friend to see your reaction, she still care about you, jealously have set in with her.

She is doing it to show you or make you think that you dumping her didn't hurt her. It is to save face and appear to be ok. Almost making it look like you did her a favor by dumping her since now she supposedly has someone better.

To covet what one has tossed into the wind is not the act of a selfless soul.
