Yes, I think a tattoo of a sacred symbol will have an effect on the person whom it is tattooed on. Diverse cultures all over the world have used tattoos as amulets, talismans, protection, and religious and spiritual devotion

If you wish it to, then it certainly will, in essence it becomes a vehicle of a persons faith walk. If they believe it helps or reminds them then it will do that.
I use mine (it's under my hairline) as a conversation starter - I can usually tell who is genuinely interested and might have a good discussion. To those who don't know it looks like a vaguely celtic symbol.
The symbol is as effective as the individual chooses it to be. Millions of people around the world wear a cross/crucifix and it has different levels of meaning for them. It's the same thing.

Probably... I mean if a girl gets a tattoo and it turns out to be a fertility symbol, she might just end up pregnant.
It depends on what you believe. I happen to believe that if you draw a symbol on yourself it might affect you if it symbolizes something like good luck or whatever.

many ancient religions marked their bodies with sacred tattoos as protection (such as the followers of mythras). this is still practiced by african christians as well as members of other religions all over the world.
furthermore
any tattoo will have an effect because of the physiological and psychological aspects of it.

I depends on the power you put into it. If you believe it, it is so. The thought and energy you put behind the tattoo, the power and will you send out to the universe will make it more powerful. The mind and the will are very powerful tools.

well having a sacred symbol as a tattoo will not have any effect on you, unless you let it. it's more on the head, the more you believe it the more your brain makes it real...

They explored that in Green Lantern comics in the 1960's. GL fought the Tattooed Man whose tattoos came to life when he touched them.:)

Sailors who were going near the Barbary Coast would have crosses or crucifixes tattooed on their back or chest. The Muslim "pirates" would strip them off with knives.

It all depends if you believe it will. anything can have magical properties, because if you believe it to be true then it will bring you what you desire because you feel safe and confident with the charm you have, therefore making you do and act better in your job, to you family and friends etc.

I don't believe that. I believe people get tattoos in things they believe in...say a cross or angels but it doesn't effect them in anyway.
