It is strange on the surface that religious conservatives, who have so much philosophically in common with fundamentalist islam, would be so vehemently opposed to it, and so willing to fight it overseas, while liberals, who would likely be among the first stoned to death (or beheaded or burned alive or whatever the penalty is for thier sorts of behavoir) under a Sharia regime, are so enclined to accomodate or apease, and, indeed, try so very hard not to 'offend' muslims.
But, it's only strange on the surface. If you delve into thier positions, they start to make sense. Islam and Christianity are incompatible religions, they have deeply-held tennets that cannot be reconciled, so they must, to some extent, oppose eachother. Conversely, the multi-culturalism of liberals demands 'respect' - the cynical might say slavish pandering - for other cultures, no matter how objectionable the details of those cultures may be, and Islam has become inextricable from the clutures where it has achieved dominance.

Actually, a pretty entertaining argument could be made that Democrats and al-Qaeda make natural allies, because they both have resentments against America as currently constituted. Others have pointed out the common themes running through the statements of, say, several Democrat senators and several representatives of al-Qaeda.
And it's largely the left trying to "silence" people, through campaign finance reform and the fairness doctrine.
But both your argument and my mock response both seem overly simplistic and distorted, don't they?
Western civilization is worth defending. I oppose all those who seem to want to destroy it.

don't forget banning abortion, which Iran has recently done.
Right-wing extremist, have a problem with anyone who doesn't worship their deity, no matter what beliefs they have.
But it probably isn't a good idea for you to point it out to Christian fundies, that they have similar beliefs to the isalmic ones.

i see by your profile this really isn't a question but a statement on your views of conservatives.
your "About me: I'm always right. The sooner you accept that, the better it will be for you. "
is that confidence or is it delusion? inquiring minds want to know.

Your statements are totally riduculous. Liberals don't think Al Qaeda is a problem and we should be talking to them instead of fighting them.

Funny...........most of the things you listed make perfect sense. But joining forces with islamic radicals? C'mon. I realize you're trying to be witty by comparing conservatives to islamic radicals, but you don't see conservatives wanting to negotiate with them, meet with them, talk with them, and trying to figure out ways we can co-exist like certain liberal presidential candidates do!
