I do not for more than one reason, but I am open to new facts. My first reason would be that it is believed that more than half of the people ever born are still alive. So let's say that in the whole of human history, about 10.5 billion people have been born; over 6.3 people are currently alive by that theory. This human history population estimate is based on very serious studies in archeology and related fields. The Bible would have you believe the world is less than 5 thouand years old.
My second and lesser reason, would be that most of those who claim to have had a previous life, usually claim to have been a famous person. People rarely claim to have been Martha the flexible Middle Ages prostitute or Josef the dung collector.
A recent phenomenom is that some organ recipiants can recall memories from the previous owner of the donated organ. Each of these is an agrument against reincarnation, but they do not make it impossible just rather unlikely. I hope this helps.

I believe in past lives. I look at it in a very unique way though. Nature in its pure since is a system that recycles everything. In that since I feel that people's souls are recycled time and time again. I can remember several bits and pieces of past lives some from the early 13th century Scotland and some from America when it was new. Around Circa 1700's. I also find my self drawn to the early Tudor England

Every human being carries around the genetic make-up of their ancestors... And I am talking man-kind in it very early stages of existence...... There also have been changes in our genetic make-up over a few million years that has enable us to survive living here on this earth...... Man-kind turns has out to be a lot older then it was first estimated to be.... Now is it possible for us to see in a dream what our ancestors look like... Why not for our current brain is just a huge store-house of information....... And I believe that it is possible for us to feel and see what they felt and seen in there time period.... And I strongly believe that those past live that we are seeing is our ancestors... And in truth via genetic we did live in that time period.... Scientist are still testing children from the time they start crawling to the time they start walking and there are certain things that they just won't do...like chase a snake etc.... And we figure it out that that sort of information has to be past down via genetically for there is no other way that child could know about the danger of snakes....... There are still so many things that we don't know about the human brain and our genetic make-up and all the possibilities of what we can do.............................................................................................

I happen to believe in them, along with several eastern religions.
Some of those religions believe that its a journey to reach enlightenment. The tibetian people have written a whole book on how to move through the afterlife so that you reach the point of reincarnation so that eventually you pass into nothingness. Which, is sort of like the force in which you are apart of the universal consciousness.

I didnt know much about past lives until my third daughter was born. She knew things that she had no way of knowing even in her very young life. I put it off to her just being very senstive until a lady who is a known psychic met my daughter and as soon as she took her hand, she exclaimed "Oh-this is a very old soul. She has been here many times before". It bothered my daughter and her frequent trips into things she knew nothing about bothered her because it made her feel different. We decided to neither dwell on it or ignore it. This daughter will be 41 next month and she has continued to be a very tortured but very intelligent soul.

Fair enough. Do I believe in past lives. There are times I swear that I have done something or visited someplace before. So to that I respond yes in some ways. I also WANT to believe that there is more to life than this so perhaps my feelings are merely that ways to alleviate my fear of the unknown. I honestly want to believe so much that this isnt all there is. I think we all do. I do believe and hope that its possible.

I do. I have memories that cannot be explained otherwise, including being able to read/write an ancient arabic alphabet, having to be broken as a child of writing both ways on paper, not just left to right and an intimate knowledge of a cathedral city in England before I even heard of it.

It could very well exist. How can we explain when we've visited someplace and it feels like you've been there your whole life? How do you explain some of the morals you have, knowing what your beliefs between what you think is right and wrong, but not knowing the answer to why you think that? I think its all in what you make of it.

I dont know for sure, but I think there very well may be some sort of "recycling" in our human existance.
Perhpas not exactly physically, somewhere spiritually perhpas.
"Journey of the Soul" is a very interesting book on this subject.

I'd have to say that most people believe in past lives... or at least life outside the body. I absolutely believe in past lives and reincarnation.
