I accidentally dropped my chives plant and all the dirt came out. What is the best way to replant them and try to save it?

Just put them back in the dirt and water them. You really can't kill chives because they are very much like a weed. I like to grow mine in large pots because they spread like wild fire and can easily take over if not kept in check.
Good luck

Put it back in the pot or plant outside. Make sure the dirt is packed in around the roots. Cut it back and it will grow. Chives do best in sunshine.

I agree with the other answerer whole-heartedly. I live in the Northeast. Chives are perennial and extremely hardy. You can either repot the plant or plant it outside. It will be fine!

I love chives. They are practically indestructible. Replant, tamp soil, and water in well.
