My wife already had a baby when I met her. The baby was two weeks old. A year and a half later, I married my wife. It is now 21 years since the wedding. I did take care of my wife's daughter. I raised her, even though I was not her biological father. She is now 22 years old, employed full time, and no longer living with us, but living nearby. We have an excellent relationship, and her mother and I are proud of her.

It can happen, and I am living proof that it does happen.

There are guys out there like this. I have a friend who got with this girl when she was 2 months pregnant and he was with her up until just before the childs 1st birthday. He was overseas and she moved her new "girlfriend" into his house. There are good guys out there but the more they get **** on, the less of them there are going to be. If you find one, or know someone who finds one, don't do him wrong. If he is willing to father a child that is not his, he deserves all the respect in the world.

I think so. I was one of them. These days, with about 86% of marriages ending in divorce somehwere down the road, it is almost impossible to find anyone that does not have children from previous relationships.

The biggest problem I see with a step parent is when there is a dissagrement on how the children should be raised or discliplined.

My solution to that is simple: If you not believe that the person you are going to marry would make decisions that affect your children that are not in the best interest of your child or children, then DON'T marry them.

They are out there, BUT, be careful and not jump too fast. Make sure its a good fit not only for you, but for the kids too, and make sure the kids give their honest opinion if things are looking like a lifelong decision is being made.

I can guarantee that there are, because I found a gem. I am four years older than my husband, and had a 4 year old daughter when we started dating. He always treated my daughter well, as did his parents (acting like real grandparents instead of "step"). We celebrated our 28th anniversary this year!

Be patient, and careful, and don't choose rashly because you might be anxious or in a hurry!

There are a lot of great guys who do not mind getting into a relationship with a women who has children. Some women are unlucky in that the father of their children do not want to have anything to do with them, so they would welcome a man who would be a real father to them

There are many out there like that. It is finding one that is the hard part of it. I married a woman with a child and I adopted him and he is like my own son.

There are. You just have to find them. My daughter had two kids, including one with issues and her new husband is the best possible father to them.
