For those people who say watching/reading Harry Potter is a sin, what exactly about it makes it a sin? Yes I know witchcraft is bad but you are'nt performing it. You're watching/reading a FICTIONAL book/movie. So please give me specific reasons.

Oh, for the love of GOD, Melissa, it's a BOOK! I don't think anyone who reads this is going to go out and buy a wand and start practicing Avada Kedavra on you or your family. I'm sorry, but I have had enough of the whole "Jump-on-a-soapbox-for-any-reason" stuff. It is entertainment, nothing more.

There is nothing sinful when reading/watching Harry Potter. What about other fictional/fantasy books and movies? Cinderella and cartoons with magic in them perhaps?
People are always saying that Harry Potter is witchcraft. How? Have they never heard of fiction????
They just think that Harry Potter is bad because soooo many people (adults and kids) are into it. There is no other possible reason for soooo many people to like them that they accuse it of witchcraft.

There are just a lot of unstable people out there (Christians mostly) that think people are going to buy into Harry Potter as being real just as easily as they bought into the bible. The bible says that magic and sorcery is evil, but seeing as how it doesn't even exist, I don't see the harm in a kid enjoying an innocent movie or book about it. These weirdos are just trying to do what most religious groups do, which is trying to abolish any free thinking. They're afraid you're going to sell your soul to the Harry Potter book rather than the bible.

Don't listen to those people. It is definitely not sinful. Besides many people who say those things haven't actually picked up the book and read it. It's FICTION and it doesn't promote or tell people to do witchcraft. It's just telling a good story. So just read it or watch it if it pleases you and don't worry about the stupid people who claim that it is sinful. They're just crazy.

All you have to say is it's a movie with actors and actresses in it. And if they say Harry Potter is bad because of the magic then they are saying movies from Disney are bad too because they have magic in them. So don't listen to them.

I think that they are really overspiritual, and it's just a #*@$% book, I mean who gives a cra*. I guess its because of the whole life and death thing at book 7... Must affect their karma lol.
And they probably think that it will brainwash their children or something...In all they are pretty stupid...
