I have an emachines t2042 with 128mb of pc2100 ram and i want to put 512mb of pc3200 ram at the same time so it has 640mb. Can I take the pc3200 stick out later and put in different computer?

Yes, you can use the PC3200 RAM if it's otherwise compatible with your machine. It's just not going to run as fast as it's capable of because you have slower RAM in your system already. Also, the other components in your system might not recognize the speed of that RAM stick, which will also keep it from running at its full speed.

As with your present machine, if a different computer is compatible with the PC3200 RAM, there shouldn't be any problem about taking it out and using it on that computer.

Yes, but it will slow down to the speed of the PC2100.
