I hate using pads they are nasty. I want to start using tampons. im 14 and i have a normal (flow) period. Should i use tampons, if yes what kind??? Thanks =)

Try OB "Normal flow" .. I use OB all the time !! Wonderful Product ! , You should check out there website too , it gives alot of info !!

First of all, I would check with a woman you are close with (mother, aunt, friends mom) to make sure tampons are right for you. (I know lots of women that think girls should wait until they are older to use tampons) But in my opinion, there is no harm in using tampons. They are very comfortable and most of the time you cant even feel them. Make sure you change them every 4-6 hours to avoid any infections etc. My favorite are the Tampax Compact, simply because they are easier to carry in your purse, and also have a rounded tip so they are easier to use. There are teen-fit, slim-fit, or slender-fit tampons on the market now, and some of them may be suited for you, however, I would recommend trying a regular absorbency tampon that is not a smaller version and see how it feels. If it's uncomfortable, after you're sure you're inserted it correctly, then try the smaller ones. Just because you're young and have not had sex yet doesn't mean that your vagina is smaller.

I'm 13 and i started using tampons because I had a swim meet and I haven't gone back to pads. I think both playtex sport and gentle glide are awesome.....especially for starters.

You can use tampons if you want to. I'd recommend starting with a slender variety with a PLASTC applicator. Once you start using tampons, you'll wonder why you ever used pads. tampons are so comfortable. You don't even feel them. (if they hurt or are uncomfortable, it means they aren't in completely).

You should only use tampons if you have a point every 5 or 6 hours so that you can change it. If you dont change it that often you could get a nasty viral infection.

im 14 and all the tampons i used were uncomfortable but im on the volleyball team so i tryed playtex sports and i use thoose all the time even when im not playen a sport there really comfy

they make tampons specially for teens. There are alot of choices in the tampon section just take your time and read all the boxes.

Every female is different on their preference. You should buy smaller packs and try some different kinds out, some will be comfortable to you and other will not. You may want to start with the slim fit that are smaller.

Go for it. Try something with a rounded tip for easier insertion. Get either a regular or a slender regular. I use Playtex Sport. They're great.
Keep a back-up pantiliner on, just in case.
