i am 55yr old. my daughter is 34. she has a 6yr old and a 4yr old. she gets so annoyed because i am interested in watching my favorite shows at night on tv. she says i should be doing something better. i tell her i raised my children and she is just jelous because she doesn't have the time anymore to do anything. what do you guys think. i feel i have earned my right to sit in front of the tv as long as i want to.

ii forgot to mention my daughter does not live with me. it is my husband and i. i do work 12hr shifts 3 days a week at a hospital so i don't just sit around. i don't think she is really jelous she just acts preturbed when she says what are you doing and i say watching tv. just interested to know why she would rather i do something else.

I don't think it is right of you to call her jealous - you aren't helping matters by saying something like that. True, you have earned the right to just vegitate in front of the TV if you so choose, but more than likely your daughter is concerned for your health and just would like to see you active - maybe taking a walk every once in a while.

Maybe she wants to watch her shows and you're hogging the TV.
Get her a TV of her own.

YOU GO GIRL.....!!!! If u raised your family and did the best you could.. that is all that matters.. and if they are grown .. then it is none of there biz=-whacks ... what u do... if she is annoyed... too bad too sad....
if u are gaining weight by sitting around, then i would agree with her ,,, u do need to get out in the yard,, or something...
but other wise.. do ur own thang....

maybe because Tv kills your brain cells, maybe she is concerned about you developing brain cancer from the radiation streaming from your television
maybe she misses you, she wants you to get off the couch and be a good grandmother and mother and do family things
maybe because she doesnt like the Tv shows you watch and she wants to watch her own shows...

i'm guessing she and her kids live with you? it's really none of her buisness if you watch tv or not. unless you live with her and it's her tv?
