Can you believe it? Paramount is making a remake of 1980's film Footloose, directed by Kenny Ortega - same guy who directed High School Musical. And supposedly it will be starring Zac Efron also of High School Musical. Now, I'm all for Zac Efron becoming the John Travolta of the decade and whatever, But Footloose? I think it will ruin the original. But what is your take on this? All opinions accepted!

Can we protest? Sign a petition? I mean, I get that Zac Efron is the latest end-all, be-all of teen heartthrobs, but thou shalt not mess with original eighties movies! Leave Footloose alone! Also on the "leave alone" list: The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, The Goonies, Say Anything, St Elmo's Fire, Better Off Dead; I could go on and on...

It could work. I personally know the creators of footloose and they are pretty brilliant guys. As for Efron he must have talent because hes on all the radars.
No one will ever top the original.

I say go for it...
I am not really a Zac Efron fan, but I see nothing wrong with making the movie a favorite of a new audience.

They can't mess with a great 80's film!
All the brat pack films make me feel special, remind me of young trouble free days, before i left school and had to go out and find a job.
If they do remake of Footloose or any other it will make me feel old!!

i think its a good idea, it'll introduce that movie to our generation, plus zac efron is a good dancer, i.e.- being in both high school musicals and hairspray, so i think that the movie will go over well

don't worry it's not true. they make a remake (i hope not!!!) but in a people magazine or something it was denied that it would be zac efron.

i heard that they might make one they didnt know but i would love it if they did and they should do grease too i would love it lol
