Is the wiring harness and computer for a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 4.3 v-6 the same for the 5.3 v-8?

I want to swap a 5.3 v-8 into my stock 4.3 v-6 pick-up.

NO but a good trick if you do replace the 4.3L with the 5.3L you can rotate the engine mounts (left on the right side right on the left side) and keep from buying new relocator mounts on the 2001's

Nope. Lots of differences. If you're going to swap, buy the whole thing harnesses, computer and all.
