Any thoughts on this deal?

Rangers fans, I think this deal works well for you guys...Saltalamacchia was considered by MANY to be baseball's best prospect the past couple of seasons. He's a freak.
I hope this deal works out for both teams.

This is a great move for the Braves. I just hate seeing Salty leave. I have been watching him for the past couple years, being his minor league was right here in my home town.
But maybe with him going to Texas he will get more playing time. Just have to keep an eye on how he does out there.

This definately swings the power. Tex is a huge bat and Mahay is pretty solid lefty out of the pen which the braves needed badly.
Salty and Andrus were not going to play in ATL. They were blocked by other players so this was a great move for both sides....

I'm looking forward to another big bat in the lineup. Chipper is having a great year already, and to have some protection behind him may help him further.
Plus for Salty, he gets a chance to play now. He's too good to be a back-up catcher.

Atlanta team need Teixeria and Mahay to be on their team as they hopes that two players can keep their hope alive to be in the playoff race this season. Texas need to found right place from the last place in the division.

Although it would be good to have Teixeira and Mahay, I'll miss Salty.

That really stinks. I'm a Rangers fan and I wish Teixeira wasn't leaving because he's a good player. Our team needs all the help it can get.

I'm no baseball fan...but it would be nice to have a winning team from Texas in that sport too for a change!
