For really bad fridge odors - here's an inexpensive and fragrance free solution that is perfect for your problem. - I know many other people that use it. It is a natural fragrance free carbon product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates the odors and for a long time. It works so much better than, lemon, baking soda and all those sprays, that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. . Just put a couple of these inside fridge and freezer No spills or chemicals or powder to worry about. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and Internet at customerservice@innofresh.com.
Definitely worth trying

BAKING SODA!!! open a box or two, pour it into a dew small bowls, if u need to, to spread the joy around!

And next time, do like I do- clean your fridge out before you go grocery shopping, so it's all beautiful- no rotten food, etc, AND you have room for the new stuff.

Happy cleaning!

Try cleaning it with baking soda then place a couple of opened boxes of baking soda in it. If practical you might also try removing everything and open the doors to air out for a few days.

You can cut a large lemon in half, cut out the meat of it and fill the peel with salt and stick it on the top shelf of the fridge. It will smell lemon fresh in no time. You can soak a 3 cotton balls in vanilla extract and place in a bowl in the fridge. A bowl or open box of baking soda in the fridge. a bowl of charcoal will do it too.

'MJ' has it pretty well covered. Years ago we had a freezer full of meat go bad. My mom tried everything and for years it stank. Then she read a "Tip from Héloise" to shut off the freezer to let it warm up and wipe everything down with a sponge soaked in vanilla extract (not imitation). Close the door and let it sit over night. It worked. I've been in the refrigeration business for over 30 yrs. and still use it. RScott

wash it out with some dish detergent and water. Then put one of those baking soda boxes in there for the fridge. They work like a charm and are super cheap.

Use a solution of baking soda and water. If it's really bad, make the solution almost a paste, slather it on, and leave it for an hour. Then remove. That should work and it's pretty cheap too.
