I currently live in Iowa, and it's so horribly racist that I can't even leave from my house. I want to move to a city or state where I'm allowed to have a life!

Its definitely and a 100% CALIFORNIA............some of the best cities in CA where you will find all types and kind of people are Antioch, Pittsburg, Concord, Walnut Creek, Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego and there are still many more. Why don't you do some research you'll know....=)

Have you been to Iowa city? It is a university town and more enlightened.

Don't listen to the people who dont know anything about the mid-west. They've probably never even been there. I've lived in the mid-west and on the east coast. You can;t just say that east coast cities are not racist or that the midwest cities all are.

Other midwest cities:

Ann Arbor Michigan

Kansas City Mo

Cleveland OH

This may not be what you wan't to here right now but, wherever you go there will be racists, assholes are a universal pest. People with limited knowledge of humans unfortunately plauge our society, and even worse they are often in power... anyway you should definetely come to N.Y.C Brooklyn, Manhhatan or Queens, don't move out to the B.X if it's your first time coming to the city it's difficult to get around from there and it's also not as cool (I'm from Brooklyn so i'm a bit biased) The racism level here is 1000 times lower than those midwestern states because people here are not idiots that have only seen minorities on T.V...though you still have to watch out for some n.y.p.d detectives who are assholes, but hey nobody said this place was perfect.

Because everyone in America is pampered and wants higher standards than their already pretty decent lifestyle (compared to the rest of the world). Like there are still femenists in this country, while other parts of the world like the middle east and africa is where they really need femenists. And there are food drives here while other countries have hundreds of people dying of starvation every day. I'm not saying it's bad to help our own country, I'm just saying people here are trying to get it closer to perfect and they don't really care about other countries that really need it. So racism is a "problem" here because it's not totally done away with, it's not "perfect", regardless of whether or not other countries have a bigger problem with it or not.

The coasts. What do you expect living in the heartland? Come out to California, or try New York. Anywhere that has diversity is bound to have less racism.

I live in the bay area (northern california) and there's every type of color and nationality living here. It doesn't make sense to be racist out here- at least not overtly so.

I would recommend either New York, Chicago, Portland Oregon or Seattle. In other words, either a very tolerant place like Seattle or a very diverse place like Chicago.

Move to Seattle. I am black and married to a white man. Nice and beautiful human being. We had to move to Utah for his job and I was the only black person in town. I have never met people that kind so Utah comes in a close second
