You would be lost in the story if you played campaign, but it wouldn't matter for online play.

If you really want to know, get the first two. They will play on a 360. Two word for why they are really great: LAN party. Before Halo 2 came out, we threw LAN parties all the time to go at it and had a blast. The second installment added to that. The story for both is also pretty darn cool. Play and have fun.

I would say that Halo is fun to play the single player missions, but online is where this game shines. The different types of game play and the skill matching make this game a must have for Live players

The story line is great for playing in split screen co-op with a friend. Lots of fun. The original Halo can now be had for only $10 - and that's new not used. I HIGHLY suggest you pick it up.

it took like 3 years to create halo. when you play halo its like you are in another world. the story is you the master chief have to help destroy the covenent (aliens) halo before thay get to earth. you land on a planet like ring. you go through jungles. deserts space snow. all on halo. and the details are amazing. go to bungie.net and check out halo 3 trailers

I got Halo 2 on my original xbox and play it everyday and I LOVE it. It's just fun to kill people and trey to be #1 and play with your friends and be fighting with the other team who will win, its just fun.
