I would and you are probably right in thinking most posters here would. But I and most pother posters here also didn't go to the American public and claim to be the right man or woman for the job.We didn't say we were gonna bring honor and decency back to the white house. We didn' promise anything and I think that counts. The President works for the American people. No one forces a President to run.Anyone who ever sat in the oval office choose campaigned yes even fought against opponents to be there all the time claiming they were better than all others. With that claim comes the responsibility to preform.
If this question means to point out we shouldn't criticize the President as much because we wouldn't be able to do a very good job as President I don't agree for the above reasons.

I love a challenge and as they say can't never could so the rest of you can fail at the job where I would thrive .
I would feed off the energy and excitement generated by getting things done that make good sense .
I probably am one of the top 1000 people in this nation who could actually handle the job and come out of it a better man beloved by the entire world for my plans and achievements .

Hey, I would never want to be President. Being a sales manager is fine with me - if I make a mistake, no one dies! I can't even imagine the kind of pressure The President must have to deal with!!!

I would absolutely crumble, especially if I was Bush. I would be screaming at the reporters, knowing how bad they would go out of their way to make me look, no matter how I answered their questions, or what I said in my speeches, or what decions I made from the Oval Office... All this while the fate of the free world rests in my hands, the future of an entire country depending on the decisions I make, not to mention the control of the oil of that country...

I would have a real difficult time keeping my temper in check. I am inspired by this Presidents ability to remain calm cool and appear even jovial in the face of what he has faced. I have come to the conclusion that there can be two reasons for this. #1 He is a cool customer or #2 He understands the press and the opposition and that it is really a joke. I'm leaning more to the #2 reason.

I would, no doubt about it. But then again, I would never seek the office.
I think the reason Bush hasn't crumbled is because his is a fantasy world where neither he nor his cronies can do wrong.
You're doin a heckuva job, Brownie!

I would have a very difficult time living up to the obligations of the Presidency, and so would George Bush if he ever seriously applied himself to the challenge.
But as it is, he just reads what he's given to read, and he's not literate enough to do that well.

I wouldn't crumble because I would run this country the way I saw fit in the interest of the citizens. I would not care what the polls say.

What, are you kidding? I would revel in it... I'd have to watch myself very closely to make sure the power didn't go to my head. But with age comes wisdom (or so they say) and hopefully by the time I'm old enough to be in such a position of power I'm wise enough to be able to handle it :)
