a couple of months ago the cigarette lighter in my car refused to pop back out. previously it had worked although now it is flattened off and wont pop back out. does anyone have any idea on how to get it to pop back out.

its for a sat nav system not for smoking. as the post says i cant actually get it out from the pushed in (heating) position. im not bothered about getting another one i merely need to get this one out!

It could be as simple as a blown fuse, no power- no 'pop out' check & replace if needed. Grip lightly with 'mole grips'& twist out, if not fuse.Not sure where lighter is situated, but its usually fairly easy to repace complete unit. good luck

If heating you need a new one. Go to you local auto parts store and buy one. Are not that expensive.

It's broken-- go buy a new lighter element. 2.00 at the parts store.

pull it out, and go buy a new one. cigarette lighters are only one size, and wal-mart sells them at a reasonable price.

you will have to force it out probably with pliers. you will have to buy a new one as this one is shot.
