Lets say if you leave your lights on over night and the next day your car battery is dead, the alternator is the reason why when someone jumps your battery, you do not need to buy a new one or recharge for a long time. The alternator charges it as your drive. Really, the battery is pretty innactive once the car is started. It's there to soak up voltage spikes and help suppy power to start the car, after that, the alternator takes over.

Yes, your alternator charges your battery so the battery does not run low. If your alternator is bad then the car will run poorly until it just cuts of and will not start without a charged battery, then same thing over until the alternator is replaced.

The alternator generates electricity when the car is running for charging the battery as well as powering the ignition system in your car and all the accessories you are using.

The main function of the alternator is to convert power from the gasoline engine to electrical energy to keep the battery charged.

The alternator is a small electric generator. It is powered by the engine's rotation through a belt, chain, or gear connection, and it generates electricity which supplies the car with electricity and simultaneously recharges the battery.

Yes. The alternator makes electrical current from mechanical movement (its basically a generator). It charges the battery and runs the sparkplugs and such while you drive, as well as running all of the various other electronics.

The alternator keeps the battery charged. It charges it when the car is running so when you kill it you can start it again.
