The presidency obviously has done nothing wrong, so why not comply with congressional subpoenas and demonstrate that there is no basis to what congress is insinuating.

Why doesn't he just show that nothing wrong has been done instead of drawing out an investigation?

Why not call congress's bluff and make them look like idiots?

Do you really believe that GWB has clean hands or if he does then why is he letting others making decisions for him. He has several people that have done things they should not have done but he is protecting them like a mad dog. And all of them should be impeached. If GWB won't let them testify then it sure looks like he is hiding some thing.

1. The Supreme Court says that the President's advisors can not be interrogated about policy matters by Congress. To allow them to do so would amount to permitting Congress to micro-manage the Executive branch of government and end with Congress becoming nearly all powerful -- which is not what the Constitution intends.. It would also allow Congress and everyone each Congressman thinks useful to decide what information should be secret and which public.

2. Scooter Libby.

Because his memory of perfectly legal events didn't co-incide with everyone else's memory, Libby was convicted of perjury and fined $250,000.

Were I asked to testify after that happened to him, I'd begin any questioning by refusing the oath of honesty. I'd preface all answers by saying that I'm not necessarily telling the truth and then by asking for blanket immunity from prosecution for anything I may or may not divulge.

The Presidency has done nothing WRONG...???

Okay. Which mirror universe did you say you came from again?

Because right now, Bush and his crony-filled administration has BROKEN every law in the book these last 6 years!

The reason WHY Bush refuses to comply with Congress, is because he thinks he's above the law and doesn't have to answer to ANYONE.

Besides, if the truth got out about what he's been hiding, Congress could impeach him on the spot--and that's not something he wants to see happen.

What continues to amaze me is that people on here still protect him and back him and believe he is just an honest christian who is being attacked by those mean democrats. Wow if only I owned some swamp land that GWB could sell to these people for me. Take off your blinders and wake up, it's not your fault they are the way they are, but don't defend them.

Apparently the paperwork that the White House has supplied, which is described as being the equvilent of a stack of paper 4 times higher than the White House itself, isn't enough to satisfy the Dems, even though they thought it was perfectly OK when Hillary stashed the Rose law Firm records in the White House Residence to hide them from the Republican Congress.

He is hiding behind any rule he can find so the truth will not come out

AND YOU KNOW IT

why is getting to the bottom of a subversion of justice case of NO IMPORTANCE to the republicans but all the investigations in the world ($40 million worth) iregarding a B J is important?
WHY?

He has given them so much documentation and allowed so much testimony, that I think he's had enough. Every time the Congress comes up with nothing, they dig deeper. I'm with him. I would tell Congress to shove it up their ***. Get some work done. Make some policies. Find something else to do with their time than try to find someone to press charges against for something that was never illegal, and never will be. The whole spectacle is an embarrassment to this country.

Oh, and Sky...Geez you're dumb. Name one law he has broken, and try to have at least one shred of proof to back that up. Just because you don't like him does not make him criminal, and unless he is criminal, he does not get impeached. And even the moronic liberal controlled congress wouldn't waste time impeaching him with as little time as he has left in office. That's the other reason this is so stupid.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard one of the Bush Administration say; "If you have nothing to hide..." to justify their spying on American citizens, I could fill my gas tank!

Guess what's good for the goose, is not good for the Bush Administration.

Bush would not have to comply in order to make congress look like fools. They do that well enough on their own. In fact, it is about the ONLY thing congress does well.

But I agree--why not get it over with already? Perhaps because the endless witch-hunt congress has been on will NEVER end if aides are allowed to testify.
