I have been able to get a tampon in twice. The first time It wasn't in far enough b/c I could feel it. So I took it out and it hurt! Probably b/c it was dry I guess? Anyway, I did it perfect the second time (i got it in...many attemps tho) And I could just barely feel it except when I sat in a weird position. Although it felt as if it were gonna fall out. Anyway, after about 1hour and 1/2, I took a shower and decided to take out the tampon. But it hurt really bad! I decided to sit on the toilet and open up a little. I pulled gentlely and then a little harder and when the tip started to come out it didn't hurt although it was kinda sore. Is this ok? I'm kinda afriad to put another in b/c I don't want it to hurt. I know you are supposed to keep them in for about 4-6 hours. I'm am using Tampax slim-fits regular (the cardboard kind tho...) The tampon wasn't that dry tho. It did have blood on it and stuff. I just hope that doesn
't happen again. I'm am going on vaca 2day and wanted to swim

Oh . Okay. Well, here are some things you should know. That tampon needs to go WAY WAY up there. When you get it in properly, you will not feel it, at all! try sitting on the toilet with your legs apart, relaxing and breathing normally. When you insert it, push it up as far as you can. You just need to make sure a small bit of string is still hanging out for you to grab when you are ready to remove it. I also think there is a chance you are changing your tampons TOO often. You should change them every four to five hours. This way there will be enough moisture to easily remove them without pain, and you will avoid TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) from leaving them in too long. I don't think there is any problem other than you have not been inserting them as high as you should, and you have been taking them out too soon. Hope this helps. You can double check with your mom too later :)

ugh the cardboard ones are awful. I use Playtex with the plastic because its smooth and they go in real easy. Are you sure you are putting them in right? You might want to read the directions, they tell you how to put them in, and they also have suggestions on different positions. When I first started using tampons I was sore also, so thats nothing to worry about. It could just be that you have a small opening. I hope this helps.

Just wait till you are bleeding really good, or right after you pee then put it in. You aren't get in far enough, put it in as far as you can while still holding on to the ringed piece of cardboard. The more you use them the less they will hurt. Also if the tampon doesn't have enough absorbed it will hurt when you pull them out.

Tampons sometimes feel that way when you take them out for two reasons.

1. you're dry and it's chafing

2. You're not relaxing

Sloutions:

1. put the tampon in after you pee ( I know it sounds weird but it works)

2. RELAX the muscles in your vagina ( sometimes it helps to push while you're removing a tampon)

good luck!

What absorbency is that tampon?

If it isn't the least absorbency then you are trying one that is too big for you right now, use a lesser absorbency tampon.
