When playing my opponent the other day, he served a really cheap weak slice shot that just got over the net and then bounced twice before I could get to it within my service box. Does he win that point or do i since it bounced twice in the service area? I am thinking of ping pong rules here i know, but wondered if it carried through to tennis

I am understanding what u r syaing then u lost the point.....
If a ball in Tennis bounces twice on the opponents side( even when u r serving) then the you win the point...

In your case, since he was serving and ball just got over the net...and bounced twice on your side..then it is a clear ACE!!!

If ball had touched the net cord even a little, then it's a LET i.e.a dead point

In tennis, when you serve all it has to do is for the ball to land
on opponents service box(including all the lines on the
service box is still good). It does NOT have to bounce at all.
As long as the ball falls in your(opponent) service area
without touching the net, it is good.
Hence in your case, your opponent wins the point....

In fact, one can do a underarm serve without even toss high
up. What I mean is, the serve does not have a round arm
action....

It should only bounce once and that should be on your side if it's being served to you.

he gets the point because in tennis the ball can never bounce twice.

i hate 2 break it 2 u but he gets the point. i cant stand those serves. id rather have them come @ me @ 80 mph. to avoid missing that point in the future, u can stand up in the court a little more so that u can get 2 the serve in time.
