We spend 7 years hearing about tax cuts for the rich. About how the wealthy republicans are greedy and evil. Deeper divisions in classes, etc.
Then we get questions like this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070730100014AAUyuSB&r=w#H7Z3Dnv.G08ufDYRA6xw
How is it that the republicans are rich and greedy, and would leave the poor to starve, but in the next sentence, if it were not for the wealthy democrats, the poverty stricken heartland would starve?
Liberal double-speak is alive and well!

Mordent...this is not one person. I hear this same complaint about 1/2 as often as I hear the "greedy rich republican" line.
TD...What do republicans have to do with this question? I also think that farm subsidies is a crock...but I do not go around saying "those rich democrats who are soooo poor that they..."

stigg...surely you are kidding, right? Liberals want lazy, drug addicts to be able to live off the nipple. They want illegal immigrants to have welfare. (I know GW does too...he has become VERY liberal lately) The list of losers that liberals want the govt. to support is long and growing!

Define "Liberal" ...if you can..... So tired of people calling everyone liberals that have no clue what liberal really is, and feels that it's an insult and a separate political party.. There are Republicans and Democrats... There are liberal republicans, liberal democrats, conservative republicans, and conservative democrats.. As soon as you take a stand that some other person doesn't agree with, you are then deemed a liberal or a conservative as if it's an insult. I love when people use those terms that don't even have a clue what they are even talking about.

Have mercy on poor creatures, all politicans have to be double spk..
their job is such
when they talk to pope , they have to agree for No abortion No pills
when they face TV , masses, they preach unprotected sex will cause AIDS and populatton will explode
so their office demands them to behave so..
there is no way a man will be single speak
then u will say he is not of a man , made of wax .. affraid.. simpleton
We get what we want.. what we are ...
System has to be changed then only then the Dbl spk and tripple spk will vanish..
Until merits are chosen to be in power and not the personalities , the dbl spk will continue and war game will threaten the earth,

It seems you don't read very well. Where in that question you refer to does it say anything about the heartland being poverty-stricken? Rather, it points out that the heartland is being incredibly well subsidized by the government, primarily from taxes paid by the coasts, but they don't seem to actually need this assistance. Liberals don't mind helping those who need it, but we hate giving a free ride to those who just want to sponge off the government.
You do realize that simply because you say something is true doesn't make it so? Just because you have this twisted concept of the liberal philosophy that you got from talk radio does not mean that it is correct. Facts do not support you, so why do you keep repeating falsehoods?

You have your facts screwed up. The major cities on the coasts are the ones with most welfare . Thats why NYC, PHILLY, Chicago, LA, etc are always voting for the democrats. Hard working people in the suburbs and rural areas are tired of sending their tax dollars to Washinton and seeing them doled out to lazy, ignorant people and illegal aliens.
Cutting taxes on the rich boost employment. Who do you think hires people? The rich reinvest in our economy. I've yet to hear of a poor person providing jobs.

It's not double-talk. Republicans complain about high taxes all the time. But the farmers in the heartland, which is majority Republican, are the first ones to cry when their government subsidies are cut.

Your question makes assumptions that aren't true and don't make sense. I think your mistake is falling for the neocon doublespeak such as they support small government when Bush never vetoed a spending bill and his policies blew up the size of government to the biggest ever. Bush's drug plan is the most expensive new program in decades and it mainly helps big drug companies. 60 minutes explained all this last night. Our money given to Bush's friends and contributors.
Edit: Bush isn't liberal he's typical neo-con / rip off artist. There's nothing liberal about Bush. He's always helping the big corporations and right wing base against the national interest.

Politics in this country prohibit you from saying anything positive about the other party. Even now there are bills that make all the sense in the world that will be rejected just b/c it's from the other side and if you supported them, you'd be viewed as a traitor.

So in your mind the opinions of one person dictates policy for everyone. Seems Bush truly is brilliant at conservative indoctrination.
*edit* Do you indeed. You must have been conducting some exhaustative surveys then, and not just remembering all the hypocratic people for use as ammunition in your bilious tirades. What an admirable person you are for informing me as to what I believe.

My dear man, Liberals are incapable of thinking on their own. They do not want independence, or individual freedom. They want, need big brother to take care of them. Thinking people are able to care for and think intelligently for themselves!
