Okay, I used to be a 'regular long distance swimmer' (I swam between 15-20 miles every evening for five straight years) ... but I haven't been 'swimming' in the past 32 years. My answer is 'yes, I could swim a mile easily, and could probably still swim up to 7 miles to 'save my life' ... but I could 'swim farther and faster' to save the life of a child or my husband ... whether the 'sea' was 'too rough' or not. I guess that's just 'part of who I am' ...

I could swim for more than a mile to save my life - I love my life and would do anything to stay here.

I am not a good swimmer but can go a long way when I float on my back and kick my legs so yes I suppose I could swim a mile.

yes it's not that hard and ur more bouyant in the sea,i dont think a person who has never swam it in a smimming pool could though, most people can't swim more than 3 lengths front crawl it's too exhausting on the tri ceps if u ain't built em up over time.

I've done it myself and my husband we got went swimming and i didn't think we where that far out from the beach but we had been drifting out quite a long way cut a long story short we had to swim for our lives was horrible was sick as a dog when we got back to the beach, lots of people came out to help us which we where so very thank full for.

I can only just about do a width at a pool! (I dunno how people do those lengths!) But if my life depended on it god yes I'd definetely be able to do it. Ive never had to save my life or anyone elses before but Ive heard about the adrenaline rush you get from these situations!!! So yes I'd just swim on my back thats easy! Could prob do 100 miles then x

yes even though i am older and a little out of shape i was raised in daytona beach florida and feel like a fish "out of water" i love to swim and be near water and hear water and all that good stuff i guess it helps because i am a Pisces also, so water is natural to me and i was on swim team at ymca when i was a kid for quite awhile.
