I have found propping myself halfway onto a pillow helps ease the discomfort. Then I am not totally on my side, nor am I totally on my tummy.

Do you have a sofa/chair or a recliner chair? TRY THAT!!! I wish I had figured it out a months before I blew up. I found sleeping in bed was more uncomfortable than sleeping upright. I guess sleeping upright took pressure off my body. I tried every position in bed, tried pillows in between my legs, tried propping myself up with pillows, tried whatever i could do to lay comfortably.. then I spent the night at my aunt's house and was sitting on the couch/chair and ended up falling asleep for a nap because it was the MOST COMFORTABLE i ever was. there was also an ottoman that I used to put my feet up.. but I guess sitting upright helped my back. The last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was so tempted to go back to my aunt's house just for some sleep lol everyone thought I wasn't comfortable and told me I should "lay down" but i was so surprised at how comfy i finally was!

I would try a body pillow first, but if it doesnt work. You could do what I did.. I went and bought one of the boppy pillows that are used to breastfeed, and I put it around my hip area when I slept. It kept my stomach raised and the added pressure off of my hips.. It took a couple of nights to get use to but it really helped with the pain in my hips..

Use a pillow or get one of those body pillows that was my biggest help. They have them at Target or Babys or US. or you can us your regular bed pillow and place it under you hip, it can also elevate your legs to reduce swelling when you are sleeping on your back, also place the pillow between your legs where laying on your side. Good luck and congrates.

Best present I ever got was a big long body pillow, I put it imbetween my legs to straighten out my hips and underneath the belly to raise it up and support it. I had my baby almost two years ago and I still use it. I call it my "boyfriend". I think it came from Sears. Any pillows will work.

i have pain when i sleep on my left side so i have to sleep completely on my right side... this has been hell for me... but i put lots of pillows around me... 2 under my head... one under my belly... one under my hips to help take the pressure off of it... and one between my legs... i sometimes put one behind my back to keep me in position... u can try those pregnancy pillows... they did me justice for a month or so... now the best things that works is a regular pillow... so if u haven't bought one, save some money, and try to adjust ur pillows at night

good luck

I use a long body pillow for the front with half of it between my legs and use a regular pillow behind my back so that I dont roll..lol. and then when I wake up and have to flip....i have to repositon the pillows. I sometimes seem to end up ono my back. Pregnancy sleep SUCKS!

Good luck...

I agree with the body pillows or any type of contraption that will give you relief. My husband backs up to me and he has been a great support as well. I also like a fuzzy blanket...it's not too bulky (because I hate being propped up like a stick) and I can place it where I need it.

A body pillow works...or any pillow that will be comfortable. Just kind of roll over on it so the wieght of your belly wont pull on your back or other areas.

It sounds like your hips may be out of place-which is common in pregnant women! Try a chiropractor(completely safe for pregnant women) and a body pillow. Wal-Mart sells them for $10. It was the best money i ever spent while being pregnant! Good luck-Amanda
