Ya know, I thought so too, but when I got there, I was soooooo glad I had a gown! lol Im 23 but I had to have a c-section and it was very difficult to walk... Much easier to go to the bathroom with a gown on! lol But, they say you should be able to wear what you wore when you were like 5 months prego... so, some loose pants and a t-shirt would prolly be fine to wear home from the hospital...

while i was at the hospital i wore long nightgowns but ones that were still pretty i bled a lot so i couldnt do the sweat thing there jcpenneys has some pretty gowns but i would go cheap in case you do bleed a lot as i did and go to walmart or something and pick up a few just for there plus as often as they come in and examine you a gown is just easier than sweats while you are there you will be tired anyway from labor so having to get up and pull down your pants hourly will get old fast i did have a nice robe for when i would go walking or have visitors i did wear sweats home though because i couldnt imagine leaving the hospital in a nightgown and believe me after you have a baby nobody is worried about what you are wearing they are there to see your new bundle of joy just make sure you have something or you will have to wear one of those gaudy hospital gowns ewwww

I wore these stretchy dress up pants and my husband's T-shirt home from the hospital...I really didn't care about what I wore actually, as long as I was comfortable. I'm 23 and tiny too, but must say that gowns are the best! I breastfed my son for a few weeks and was so glad to have the gowns, esp. the ones that buttoned in the front. I also had to have a 4th degree episiotomy done and was so glad to have gowns because they didn't involve me lifting my legs and were so comfortable! You can find cheap ones at Wal-mart...and I found designer cotton gowns at Burlington Coat Factory.

I wore a pair of maternity pants - and a loose shirt.
And a coat - middle of winter.
Be prepared though, to wear your slippers home. My feet were so freakin swollen when I had my daughter, I had to. There was no way in hell my normal shoes would fit. These were the same ones I'd worn all throughout pregnancy!!
I personally would not want to wear a gown or a robe home.

I wore one of my husband's t-shirts and a pair of leggings home from the hospital. The only gowns I wore were nursing gowns at night to sleep. Got them at Wal-mart. Just be comfortable that's all.

I left the hospital in my pajama pants and a t-shirt, so I'd say it's just fine. They suggest a night gown that buttons down the front for nursing purposes and comfort. If the pants you wear are too tight, it can cause you discomfort in the vaginal area- because it will be sore! But if you keep it nice and loose, you'll be fine!

Yes...that's perfect. I thought I was going to leave all skinny. I packed maternity pants from when I was about 5 months and a maternity sweater. I could hardly get the pants over my thighs and my stomach in the sweater made me still look pregnant. I thought I was going to feel like dressing up...but you will just want to be as comfy as possible (without a mumu)!

i wore a tank top under a robe... i was so uncomfortable "down-there" that i just wore my panties--with the pads of course and pulled the robe closed. .... be careful if you buy a gown.. it might get bled on. Whatever is comfortable works! Good Luck

Sweats is fine, as long as you are going home, if yu plan to go somewhere before home, maybe something more attractive. I came home in a t-shirt and jammie pants.

I wore a maternity skirt, and a non-maternity shirt. It depends on how big you still are, most still look 6 months pregnant the day they leave.
