Most insurances will cover it, however there is normally a co-pay at the pharmacy.
The methods covered and how much you'll pay vary from state to state and company to company. The best thing you can do is contact your HR person at your company or contact the insurance company directly and ask them what's covered and how much you'll have to pay.

If it don't cover it many helath departments give it for free, and also planned parenthood is like $20-30 for three months. So you can get it cheap if your insurance doesn't cover it. Many health insurances do cover it though.

Some do. I get my prescription filled at Eckerd where the price for my BC is regularly $29.99. For a while, my insurance covered it and it was $15, then one day, the pharmacist said it didn't go through.
