An AMD X2 6000 is a 2x3.0ghz processor, with a 2mb cache.

A comparable Intel is either :

A intel E6600
A intel E6750
A intel E6850.

The intels have a better size cache, but the AMD's conpensate by being cheaper.

If you going for a top range proccessor, which 6000 is, then i'd probly go for intel myself.

And this is an AMD lover speaking, but i think that intel have really won the market on high end processors at the moment.

For mid-range, I rate AMD alot more though.

The AMD is comparable to the E6600, as they have about the same performance. However the E6750 and E6850 are easily faster. For they money though, the 6000+ is a very good processor.
