I think it's the sensor that tells the computer the coolant is cold. If so, where on the engine is it located? It's a 5.7L engine with a TBI. Thank you.

It is right by the thermostat outlet and is screwed into the intake manifold. It is hanging in the coolant flow. I would first scan the PCM to see if the sensor's data is valid as that will tell you if there is a problem with it. Good luck.

dont know for sure but the temp sensor is usually located near the thermostat housing or on the side of one of the heads.
