I don't really think the red sox will make any trades. They are very good already. Also, when they tried to make deals for players such as Mark Teixeira (was just traded to Atlanta), Jermaine Dye (deal failed), and Ty Wigginton (has already been traded to houston), they would have had to give up their two best prospects; Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Bucholdz.
I don't expect the red sox to trade for anybody but that could change in a day, possibly sooner.

I HOPE they get Jermaine Dye, so they can sit that underachieving J.D. Drew down and play Dye every day. Don't count out us getting Gagne as well. We will not give up anything big, but teams get desperate at the final hour when they know their players are going to be free agents next year, so the Sox are holding the cards right now as far as having the upper hand on who they would have to give up, because in all reality they really don't need anyone.

They are one of just a few teams that can look but they don't have to buy. The Red Sox have enough right now to go to the playoffs and win the world series. I don't believe that there is anything they must do to improve their chances. It is a great position to be in and the team and their fans are the benefactors.

Jermaine Dye...He'll basically take Wily Mo's spot and play a lot as a back up out fielder with some pop. He would be a good guy to get for the remainder of the year

I don't think they will make any move since things are clicking right now. I will say I wouldn't mind seeing another big bat in the line-up. I know what your thinking ... They already have plenty. I've just seen a lot of stranded runners lately and not as many homers to bring them in. It would be excellent to get someone Like Ken Griffy who has speed and power.
