If you had a choice, which one would you choose?

Nissan Murano SL AWD or the Land Rover LR2

I am torn...more trunk space in the Murano, but nice leather seats in the LR2 and a drive similar to a Range Rover.

Anyone have an expert opinion on better performance, etc. of these vehicles?

I currently drive an Acura TSX - really disappointed with it. The Acura RDX is the TSX just a little higher with a 'smaller' trunk if you can believe it. Unfortunately, the MDX is in a cost bracket too high for us now.

I would certainly agree about the comments comparing the reliability of these two vehicles, but aside from that: Do you plan to go off road? If the answer is yes, the LR2 is far superior as it was designed for it. If the answer is no, the Murano will be much better on the street since it's a car based platform, not a truck.

I'm guessing you don't plan to go off road or you wouldn't even consider the Murano, if I'm right just buy the Murano. Or test drive an Acura MDX.

Putting aside looks, interior accomodations, etc., have you also thought about cost to own/repair as a criterion?

The Land Rover is going to be much more expensive to service than the Murano. It's got that cachet/name brand. Also, you may want to check out some information about reliability of the Land Rover. It's probably not going to be like an Accord or Camry which is rock solid reliable.

It boils down to -if you want the cachet and name of a Land Rover, go for it. But you'll have to pay for the privilege. My guess is that the Murano will probably be easier on the pocketbook to own and maintain.

Land Rovers have a terrible reputation for reliability.

LAND ROVER.

CAUSE IT'S AVAILABLE WITH A V8...

HELL LOT OF FASTER.

AND THE LANDROVER SHOULD TOW MORE THAN THE MURANO.

HO, AND THE LANDROVER IS BETTER IF OFFROADING

OTHER THAN THAT, MURANO IS CHEAPER.
