I have a vacation home in Tagaytay, so I hope I can help.
The places to look for would depend entirely on your budget. There is Tagaytay Highlands where you will feel like you are in another country, but it is most expensive. There is also a gated village called Herbal Cove but I am not sure if there are still units for sale. This place was developed by the owners of Gourmet's Cafe.
Going down, the cost ladder, you can check out the various new subdivisions, including Crosswinds (Manny Villar owns the company). You have options of buying land and then building your own vacation house, or buying any of their quadrilles (these are 4 units in one structure. They are lovely, but the rooms are too small. The master's bedroom is smaller than regular rooms in better developments.
And then there are houses for sale along the ridge. They are too many to enumerate. Either you drive down there, or if you are unable to go, get a broker and ask him/her to do the scouting for you. Have someone you know cut trim down the options, and then you will only need to make your final selection from a few, when you finally arrive.

I'd recommend putting up a small business like a sari sari store or internet/gaming at your home. I think its hard to look for legitimate employers for home employment. The ones i know of are engaged in "pyramid scams"(also sometimes known as multi level marketing) and i'd rather not mention them here.
