2x + 3y = whatever you want.

Two variables, only one equation. I can plug in any numbers I want for x and y, so I get an infinite number of solutions.

2x + 3y = 0
2x = - 3y
x = - 3y / 2
x = - 1 1/2y

3y = - 2x
y = - 2x / 3
y = - 2/3x

Answer: x = - 1 1/2y, y = -2/3x
