This morning I found my passenger side rear view mirror missing. Not the whole assembly....just the glass/mirror part. Does this sound like car vandalism or could the mirror just have fallen off? Does it take much to pry off just the mirror? I'm just curious how this person who stole it was able to do it in plain view. I live in a heavily populated area. Someone is always around. Could it be the mirror just fell off?

One of my good friends had the passenger side mirror just fall off her Sebring convertible, going down the road. It was there when she left, and gone when she got back. Adhesive failure. I'd say it could very well not be vandalism; especially if there is no other damage to the mirror pod or door. Salvage yard time.

It could I suppose, especially if you live in a hot climate and the epoxy or whatever holds the mirror in place melted. People can be pretty brazen though - my car was keyed once in a crowded shopping center, and I very well could have been sitting on a bench in front of the laundromat, and I didn't "see a thing." So the vandalism in plain sight could also be true.

Yes, it could have just fell off. However, it is just as easy to rip the glass with the black backing piece out. If the backing piece (part the glass is glued to) is still there then I would defiantly say it fell off. If both are gone it's anybodies guess.

PATERSON — Someone stole 1,000 gallons of water from Daisy Valdivia's backyard. And they didn't spill a drop.

Valdivia woke Wednesday morning to find that her family's inflatable pool, hip high and 10 feet in diameter and filled with water, was stolen from her backyard in the middle of the night. There is no evidence that the water was poured out, pumped out, evaporated or drunk.

"I've never heard of a pool being stolen, let alone one with water in it," Valdivia said.

According to Valdivia, the theft must have occurred between 1 a.m., the time her husband went to bed, and 5 a.m., the time she woke to put out the recycling.

It could of just fallen off but it is pretty unlikley unless it was already loose. my guess is some one stole it off of your vehicle.
