Man is on his 3rd date and anticipates getting lucky that evening.

Invites woman over to his house, makes dinner, has a beautiful bottle of red wine on the table.

He pours a small amount into each of their glasses. She takes a sip to discover it is a strong liquor the same color of red wine.

Look like he was trying to speed up the wine and dine process a bit, or what?

In his defense, he knew she loved that kind of liquor and really isn't a red wine type of gal ....

So, unique and thoughtful or insulting?

If she likes it, why is it insulting? It sounds like a romantic surprise to me. As long as she still has equal input as to whether or not he actually does get lucky, I don't see the problem here.

I should add that I don't see how his substitution could be construed as deceptive, since she knows and likes this liquor, and would therefore recognize it easily after one sip- well before she could get drunk enough to be taken advantage of.

It it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it probably is a duck. Not being there one can't really know what the gut feeling response was.

I would be inclined to wonder if maybe it was a ruse to get her into bed.

I think it's thoughtful even if he was trying to speed up the process. He took the time to know what you like didn't he?

I'd say it's pretty thoughtful. After all, if the woman doesn't want to drink she doesn't have to. As far as any "extracurricular" activity...she's in control of that as well.

Did he say it was wine or let her insinuate? If the latter, and she is familiar with it, perhaps he assumed she would tell the difference.

I think that is thoughtful, if he knew that she liked that kind of liquor.

thoughtful. He took the time to do something for her. So his motive might not have been the best.

I would say thoughtful, not insulting. As least he didn't put a roofie in her drink.
