After 3 shots, I still wasn't dead enough to pull the tooth. He said if it didn't numb he couldn't pull it and it was KILLING me. So I acted numb even though I felt the whole thing. But it felt so good to get that tooth out afterwards, I forgot the pain soon!

Years ago when I was pregnant with one of the kids, the dentist I
went to did a root canal. Now if I had known what I do now, I would
never have had it done. The tooth broke the next day and I had to go
back and he had to pull the tooth. It took him over an hour and he
put his knee in my chest and pulled it out. I was almost 9 months
pregnant at the time. I was stressed and I'm sure the baby was. I
vowed I would never let another 'QUACK' do a root canal again. It is
just a money grab and torture. I have had a fear of dentist ever since.
I love the dentist we have now, but I am terrified every time I get in
the chair. He knows what I went through and is extra gentle.

I went in to have permanent caps put on my front teeth (I'd had temporaries for a long time and they were getting discolored). The dentists, who I still swear was just a dental student, sized me for the caps then reapplied a new set of temporaries. I was in that chair for a good 3 hours while she sanded and ground the temps to fit my mouth, then she abruptly sent me on my way. When I got out to the car, I looked at them and freaked!! She had ground them down so much that they were smaller than the rest of my teeth!! I went back in and started screaming at the receptionist (she was very rude and was trying to tell me I would need to come back another time) demanding that a "real" dentist fix them. finally, this guys appeared, swept me into a back room and redid them, without giving me any more Novacaine!! It hurt SO bad, but he did make them look normal. The worst was that I had to come back for my permanents. I said I would ONLY see the guy who fixed me and they gave me my way. The permanents looked great and he did use Novocaine that time.

I was getting several root canals at the same time. The Dentist was having a hard time with one particular tooth. After several sets of x-rays, he finally discovered that the root was "curved". Meanwhile, I was in the dentist chair for 3 hours.

Having a tooth pulled with ONLY "Laughing Gas" that barely worked. Hurt like a mutha flucka. I was 14 and I had a baby tooth that refused to come out and my adult tooth was already in. I then had braces for a year and a half.
