I asked my doctor to test me for sickle cell anemia, but he wouldn't. He told me that only black people get sickle cell anemia. I told him that was racial profiling and reported him to the AMA.

And to further answer your question.
Racial profiling would be for instance if say... you see a middle easterner in an airport and even though they aren't doing anything you strip search them under the guise that they might be a terrorist.
Or you're looking for a criminal in a predominately white neighborhood, and a cop pulls over a black guy, because what's a black guy doing in a white neighborhood.
Racial profiling is useful at times, but I think it's really, really, wrong.

What if you don't live in America?
All hell breaks loose.
For the most part, though, I imagine blacks in America are used to being called African-American, and if they aren't, for instance Haitians or Jamaicans, they'll probably just correct you.

african-american is the black communitys choice of description. i am tired of this entire color thing. one would think that after so many years of this crap we as beings could get past it. but do not hold your breath for that. there are people who use color in their life because that is how they get what they want and people just keep teaching their young to believe all this crap is important. to stop is as simple as stoping. but as i just said, don't hold your breath.

my answer is yes because if your not born in Africa then your not African American. how about either referring to them as "Americans"? or if you must refer the race try "black"

nope...they are of African decent, therefore it isn't a racist statement, more of a descriptive statement....like an adjective....I'm of British decent, so it's ok to call me Anglo-American...cause I am.
