A lot of the problem is the cloth you are using it must be clean and free from any grease marks.Try cutting up an old towel then throw away the pieces when finished.Deluted bleach in luke warm water will make your kitchen shine like new.Expensive cleaners have that all important ingredient ammonia flashed up with some nice smelly stuff. But the clean cloth is the main thing good luck.

Baby oil is the best, I use it for stainless and brushed steel for dozens of clients and it take marks off and leaves it streak free, only a tiny amount required though or you will leave the surface wet and slippery!

All stainless steel cleaners are toxic. Try a non amonia based cleaner such as "sparkle". If you want a high shine, a light coat of WD-40. Problem with stainless, all fingerprints show up. Its a never ending task to keep it clear.

I love microfiber clothes. They don't leave any lint or smudges. All you need is alittle water on them and they clean like crazy. I use them on stainless steel, mirrors, windows. They are amazing. Just don't use fabric softener when you wash them.
